I’m a freelance travel writer.

Twenty years of travel journalism, one AITO award and a toddler in tow

I’ve written about travel for 20 years – for The Times, The Telegraph, The Guardian and Condé Nast Traveller, and for travel brands including Kuoni, Experience Travel Group and Tao Philippines. In 2024 I won AITO Travel Writer of the Year for an essay about my rather complicated route to motherhood. That’s the beat now: proper adventure, with a three-year-old in tow. I’ve filed copy from a bangka boat in Palawan, a blizzard in Antarctica and a sulphur bath in Tbilisi.

I’m from Devon, so I’ll happily bang the drum for the West Country too. If you’ve got a commission in mind – a feature, a destination guide, a brand magazine – say hello.
